NCFE Functional Skills English Entry Level 1, 2, 3 Past Papers
NCFE Functional Skills English Entry Level exams are separated into two sections, Reading and Writing. The Reading section tests your ability to extract information from several types and styles of texts, while the Writing section will require you to produce your own texts, to assess your literary capability, as well as your spelling, punctuation and grammar. The Writing paper also involves an extra 10 minute, 10 mark Spelling Section, which is not included on the site.
The allocation of time and marks in exams is as below:
- Entry Level 1:
- Reading – 40 minutes, 10 marks
- Writing – 35 minutes, 20 marks (+ 10 marks)
- Entry Level 2:
- Reading – 40 minutes, 14 marks
- Writing – 40 minutes, 25 marks (+ 10 marks)
- Entry Level 3:
- Reading – 40 minutes, 16 marks
- Writing – 45 minutes, 30 marks (+ 10 marks)
You may use a dictionary in your NCFE Functional Skills English Entry Level 1, 2 or 3 reading paper, but not in your writing paper.
