Functional Skills English Entry Level 1, 2 and 3 Past Papers
Each exam board follows the same specification, which analyses three key skills:
Ability to extract and deduce information from texts
Identification of appropriate choices of linguistic features
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (which is primarily assessed in the Writing paper)
Each exam board’s specification can vary, however, all reading papers will test your ability to analyse sources, and the writing paper is formed of multiple-choice questions on spelling, and the creation of some longer written responses. Reading papers will allow the use of a dictionary, but writing papers will not – this is common amongst all exam boards.
