NOCN Functional Skills English Entry Level 1, 2, 3 Past Papers

NOCN entry Level English assessments are split in to 3 parts: Reading, Writing and Speaking, Listening and Communicating. Assessments may be taken on different days to support the needs of learners. The reading exam requires the learner to read two different documents and answer questions relating to the texts, where as the writing exam is split into 5 tasks, each with separate instructions and guidance.

The split of marks and time in these exams exams is listed below:

  • Entry Level 1:
    • Reading – 45 minutes, 14 marks
    • Writing – 45 minutes, 30 marks
  • Entry Level 2:
    • Reading – 45 minutes, 16 marks
    • Writing – 45 minutes, 35 marks
  • Entry Level 3:
    • Reading – 45 minutes, 20 marks
    • Writing – 60 minutes, 38 marks

For the NOCN Functional Skills English Entry Level exams, the reading papers allow the use of a dictionary, however the writing papers do not.
