The Open Awards Functional Skills Maths Level 1 exam is a single online assessment. The exam is split into sections A and B to mimic the two papers of other exam boards. Section A is shorter, tends to have simpler questions, and does not allow the use of a calculator; section B is longer, tends to have more difficult questions, and it is expected that you will use a calculator.
