NCFE Functional Skills English Level 2 Past Papers
The NCFE Functional Skills English Level 2 exam is in the form of two papers: a reading paper and a writing paper. The reading paper contains both multiple choice questions and written answer questions, with longer written answer questions near the end. The questions test skills of inference, comparison and spotting linguistic features. The writing paper contains two long-form questions, requiring comprehensive written solutions, where you are assessed both on writing skill and on spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Both questions on paper 2 are worth 22 marks, so candidates are expected to spend around 30 minutes on each of them.
The NCFE Functional Skills English Level 2 exam assesses these key skills:

There are 30 marks available for reading, 26 marks available for writing and 18 marks available for spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Candidates also need to complete a speaking, listening and communicating exam to complete the NCFE Functional Skills English Level 2.
