What topic areas are covered in the exam?

TQUK functional skills maths level 2 exam content is split up into three areas:

  1. Using numbers and the number system
  2. Using common measures, shape and space
  3. Handling information and data / statistics

Many of the longer questions will require you to apply skills from multiple topics, so it’s essential to revise all three areas thoroughly and practise problem-solving across the entire specification. Additionally, for multi-mark questions, it’s particularly important to show all your working. This is because you might still earn some marks for using the correct method, even if you make mistakes in your calculations.
