What topic areas are covered in the exam?
City and Guilds functional skills maths level 2 exam content is split up into three areas:
- Using numbers and the number system
- Using common measures, shape and space
- Handling information and data / statistics
Most of the longer form questions will require you to use different skills from more than one topic, so it is important to revise all three areas thoroughly and practice problem solving skills using all topics in the specification. Moreover, it is especially important to include all your working for questions worth multiple marks. This is because you may be awarded some marks if your method is correct, but you have made errors in your calculations.
