City and Guilds Functional Skills ICT Level 1 Past Papers
City and Guilds Functional Skills ICT Level 1 past papers are usually split into two activities – a shorter activity at the start of the paper and a longer activity at the end of the paper. Some, however, are split into more than 10 small activities to be completed within the time. City and Guilds Level 1 Functional Skills ICT past papers all come with a set of data files that you have to download to do the exam, and the exam paper guides candidates as to what evidence they should submit.
There are two hours available for the exam:
Activity A – 15 minutes – 10 marks
Activity B – 1 hour 45 minutes – 70 marks
There are 80 marks available overall.
The City and Guilds ICT Functional Skills Level 1 exam assesses students on three key skills:
- Using ICT (20-30% of exam)
- Finding and Selecting Information (10-20% of exam)
- Developing, Presenting and Communicating Information (50-70% of exam)
Developing, presenting and communicating information is the most important skill, forming the majority of the exam, however a good grasp of all three skills is essential for exam success.
