Functional skills are a series of qualifications in Maths, English and Digital Skills. Each of these subjects have 5 levels which are as follows:

Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English are equivalent to GCSE grade C/4 and are widely accepted by employers and universities.
It varies by paper and exam board. As a guide, the Level 2 Maths pass mark is typically around 55%, with English reading and writing similar. The Speaking, Listening and Communicating (SLC) component is assessed on demonstrated skills rather than a fixed percentage. Functional Skills Level 2 is pass/fail, so you just need to meet the threshold set for your specific paper.
