Line of Arguments and Narratives
You will need to understand and follow peers’ line of argument without getting lost.
Your own presentation will need to have a coherent narrative which peers can follow.
You will be assessed on your prepared communication and your spontaneous communication.
Coherent Narrative
A coherent narrative needs to make logical sense. In other words, a beginning, a middle and an end.
Having a clear structure makes it easier for the listener to understand your line of argument.
Whilst listening to peers’ presentations, do not get distracted by irrelevant information or emotive language unless it is a story or a description.

The Constellation Technique
To figure out the main points of their text, the constellation technique can be used.
- Write down the main points of a narrative across your page
- Join up the points like a dot-to-dot!
This will help you to follow a person’s line of argument!
