City and Guilds Functional Skills ICT Level 2 Past Papers

City & Guilds Functional Skills ICT Level 2 past papers follow a very similar structure to most other ICT Functional Skills exams. The paper consists of two parts. The first part requires you to use the internet to search for information and use email to communicate. The second part doesn’t allow you to use the internet and requires you to organise the data and information you are given as well as create a presentation or document in a given context. To complete the exam you will need to make use of the data files, which contain the relevant resources and information for you to answer every question.

All City & Guilds Functional Skills ICT Level 2 exams are 2 hours in length and a total of 50 marks are available. The pass mark is between 30-34 marks out of 50.

Part A: 20 minutes – Approximately 10 marks (Marks vary from paper to paper, but usually make up \boldsymbol{\dfrac{1}{5}} of the total marks available)

Part B: 100 minutes – Approximately 40 marks (Marks vary from paper to paper, but usually make up \boldsymbol{\dfrac{4}{5}} of the total marks available)

The assessment criteria are all contained within three main areas:

  1. Using ICT (20-30%)
  2. Find and Select (10-20%)
  3. Developing, presenting and communicating (50-70%)
