Edexcel Functional Skills ICT Level 1 Past Papers
Edexcel Functional Skills ICT Level 1 past papers are split into two sections – a short section where candidates are expected to find information from the internet, and a long section where candidates are not allowed to use the internet, but are instead asked questions on the data files they have been given before the exam. The exam papers give guidance on how to submit work – specifically they make clear which evidence needs submitting for which questions.
The exam lasts for 2 hours:
Section A – 15 minutes – 4 marks – Internet allowed
Section B – 1 hour 45 minutes – 46 marks – Internet not allowed
There are 50 marks available overall.
Three skills are assessed by the Edexcel Level 1 Functional Skills ICT exam:
- Using ICT
- Finding and Selecting Information
- Developing, Presenting and Communicating Information
Developing, presenting and communicating information forms a more substantial part of the exam than using ICT and finding and selecting information, but all three skills are necessary for success in this assessment.
